Short term "fix" is to find the fuse associated with the blower motor and pull the fuse. Be aware this fuse might render another circuit inoperable. Sometimes Porsche combines various circuits. For example pulling the fuse to disable the spoiler of my 996 Turbo also rendered the engine compartment electric latch inoperable.

The problem is probably beyond your ability to diagnose and fix -- could be an ignition switch or a bad heater/AC controller -- so my advice would be to get the car to a qualified shop ASAP and have this looked into.

Hi, I had this a few months ago on my '12 981B. All of a sudden the cabin fan would not stop blowing at full speed. I was given some great advice what to look for on Boxa.net, the likely culprit being the 'hedgehog' regulator - so named because of the heat sink with lots of rods/prongs sticking out.

I ordered the part from D911 (I think), something like:-

Fitting it was an easy DIY, from within the passenger footwell. I can dig out the thread from Boxa.net if you need it. Good luck.

brilliant fella, i spoke with a racing mechanic the other day and he mentioned a Rheostat failure, so could be the same thing.

yep would appreciate if you can repost the link.

the car is booked in with my local OPC tomorrow, so will give them a heads up.

thanks rOb

Hi, from my Boxa.net reply text: £36 delivered, which sounds about right based on my earlier D911 link. Then 10-15 mins of my own labour, Cheers.
