Hello All,

I've got a public parking ticket for sunday - what time would people suggest I arrive in order to avoid parking on grass. The car I'm taking needs to park on a hard surface and was thinking of getting there at 10am.

Thanks in advance

Unless it's radically changed, you'll be directed into a field at that time.

Granted, it's a couple of years since I've been, but the only hard car park I've ever seen is on the old start/finish straight at the entrance?

You'll need to be there at daybreak to get in that, if you're lucky.....

I would aim to get there well before 10 and on the approach from the A43 get into the right hand lane. Hopefully you'll then be directed to the hard standing car parks which run parallel to the new pit straight assuming they are not already full.

Would have said no chance of hard parking. Looking at the latest weather forecasts and the car parks are going to be interesting to say the least.

Fairford this morning was bad enough. Silverstone will be worse I would imagine.

Cheers everyone - good idea with the google map (didn't think of that). Looks like a change of plan with vehicle I intend to take - just need to figure out how to get the parking ticket off the TVR!!

Cheers again All

Hi, this is my 9th year going to the British gp weekend, totally gutted it looks as though I can't take the 355!! My advice is get there very early- I'll be there about 6.00am. The earlier you arrive the nearer you'll be to the exits when you depart, John.

Marshalls campsite sounds grim. I will be taking the Jeethe hen I go there later today...

If you get there early enough, there is some public parking in the tarmacced car parks off the Dadford Road....but if you are in a field, try not to park at the bottom of a hill and do your best to find a spot near the exit...

I've got 2 tickets for general admin for the GP but no parking passes. I live about 200 yards from Hinton on the hedges park and ride, does anyone have any room in their car for 2 people to sneak on the park and ride with them?

I, along with others I know, have used P&R many many times not having tickets.

Thanks i did wonder whether this was the case but wasn't sure whether to risk it. It's actually the girlfriend going this year with a friend so I'll shuttle her to the P&R on the quad bike

Does anyone know if you can still park at Silverstone Golf Club or at the Dadford Road campsite on Saturday & Sunday, or are they a complete washout?

I've tried calling both but no answer, as I expect they are a tad busy today!!

Cheers.

You need to check sstone website. According to tweets from local news people around here, dad ford road campsites are full and they are having to relocate people to whittlebury and turweston even today.

Judging by the news, if you want to be there for the race, then leave now.
