reduce engine bay temps
Discussion
Id suggest cam caused reduction in boost due to better flow. So it was less boost that reduced temps.
Power went up because now the air is going into the engine instead of being compressed against a closed valve...
So 2 benefits, more airmass and its also cooler because its less compressed..

i'd agree with it being the cat, without any my pipes get hot, but not that hot that I can feel them in the foot well when driving, still touchable (quickly) from under the car...:S
do you have bonnet insulation still in at all? And ....sacrilege I know but have some bonnet raisers on?

need to look into this again, because on sunday my feet were getting very hot after driving on the road and also at speed on part of the top gear service road.
Are all the brands fairly similar and is better to go gold or silver with regards to the reflective tape/heat shield
G we have a very simmiler exhaust setup and i cant say my foot well has ever got hot unless the heater is on...Are all the brands fairly similar and is better to go gold or silver with regards to the reflective tape/heat shield
On occasions I've felt a huge build-up of heat rising from the transmission tunnel. I assume this is cats/exhaust heat, or perhaps just the fan blowing hot air under the car when sat in traffic. Probably not anything to worry about in my case at least.
When's the blower going on Big G?

I was hitting around 125-130 at times and generally keeping the revs up

None for the near future. Just going to try and actually use it more often instead of ballsing about changing things !

Already done one local sprint and a hillclimb. Really isnt as bad as it should be, but was superb fun. More enjoyable than straight lines, and a damn sight cheaper.
So hopefully another one or two of them this year, TOTB, and maybe a drag strip. Not trying to break any records though.
