Nice
Needs a battery cover or water on the battery top= rust under battery tray.
C reg should have side repeaters though shouldn't it.
I put the RS1600i steering wheel in mine rather than the standard.

I like the rs4 spoke steering wheels but this is meant to look o/e

Side repeaters were only on 86 C plates.

Battery staying as it is. Battery tray is treated and lots of waxoyl underneath battery smile

Stunning! Love to see these better than new after all these years. Does it get driven much? Would be a shame not too in the better months of the year driving

You nearly drove over a mirror. That would have been a few years bad luck. Close shave eh?

Stunning!!!

I remember back when I was 18 (1993) and trying to find a nice one back then was hard (trying to get insurance was even harder)..... I had just about given up when I found an example just 3 miles from me.

1st Owner was the wife of the Sales Manager of Appleyard Ford (Brighton)and the second owner was her brother who was the Head technician at Appleyard Ford.
62.000 miles, Main dealer stamps in the history book every 6.000 miles and utterly standard - I couldn't believe my luck!! Back then, that car cost me £2750.00

I tried various things like clear/semi smoked lights/16" Escort Cosworth style rims (From a Mondeo si) etc, etc. But everytime I made a change I very quickly realised the car looked best completely standard and reverted back to Ambers and 15" Alloys - with a scorpion exhaust and a K&N filter element being the only mods that remained.

I have had about 40 different cars all in all, since then but none I covet so much as that 'old escort'

...... Sadly a few years ago I noticed my old Escort (B422 KYJ) on the front cover of Fast Ford or Performance Ford magazine. But it was now wearing a big aluminium rear spoiler and had half of the front cut out for a large intercooler etc, etc.

Very nice, great to see these old cars restored to OEM spec. Have had 3 RS turbo's & 4 Cossie's over the years but moved away from the RS scene a long time ago. Always prefered the styling of the S1 over the S2.

Great work mate.

Great work - it takes me back to the old RSOC events. I was the magazine editor for four years in the late 80s, early 90s (I'm at work and can't recall the exact dates).

I seem to remember that the S1 RST had a weak fifth gear and a few owners used to advocate 'resting' the car in fourth on the motorway.

The S1 always looked better than the S2, despite the latter's anti lock brakes etc.

I'll have to dig out some of my old pics...
