their avg fan will be a balding middle age man - cash cows in the gig world!
in the current climate 67 quid is certainly fairly high end.
Tell that to the 60,000 fans per week that cough up a similar amount each week to in the current climate 67 quid is certainly fairly high end.
Watch 22 men kick a ball around a field each week at some grounds in the premier
League.
It entertainment, some of my acquaintances think nothing of spending the same on booze
Per week.....
And how did you know I was balding......

Serious question; what would you consider a reasonable price to put that sort of operation on the road? There are bands with a far less impressive stage show than them who charge far more.
When watching a band in a local all standing arts centre or similar venue will cost you £20 or more, I think it's very good value.
Of course, it was £2.75 the first time I saw them.

I imagine its a lot more costly put put on a gig now than it was in 2000 so their profit margins will be down - I accept that.
IMO 60 is too much to see them again but they are not exactly my fave band. I am sure 60 quid will be find to those people that want to see a band they have been following for 20-30 years or whatever.
Personally I have been to many gigs over 60 quid but these days I think twice for any ticket over 30 quid when you factor in travel etc
I'm not sure any gig is worth £60 in truth.
However, I am very picky with gigs these days.
I haven't missed a Rush tour in the UK since 1979, so not going to start doing so just yet.
I recently paid £70 plus fees for The Who in Cardiff, and £40 plus fees for Roy Harper in Bristol. Both of which are extortionate.
It seems that bands make most of their income from gigs now, whereas, when I paid £3 to see Genesis in 1980, most income was from record sales.

It is hard to quantify enjoyment and it's different for everyone. I guess if you feel uncomfortable paying it, you won't enjoy it so much and if you come away feeling a bit ripped off then it definitely isn't worth it.
I certainly wouldn't pay that much for any but my favourite "big" bands and Rush are about the only arena band I will travel to see these days.
If I had to add an overnight stay in a hotel to the cost I think I wouldn't bother but a tank of fuel and crash out at my brother's place makes it ok.
Was it the Duke tour when you saw Genesis for £3? We couldn't get tickets, they seemed to sell out in seconds!

Yes. It was the Duke tour. Saw them in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. Fantastic. My mate almost got run over by a limo at the back of the hall. Turns out it was the band, who signed his denim jacket for himI certainly wouldn't pay that much for any but my favourite "big" bands and Rush are about the only arena band I will travel to see these days.

Fantastic show at the O2 last night.
Alex's playing in particular was just stunning. Geddy was managing his voice, but it was still good.
I won't spoil things by divulging the set list, but just don't miss the encore or you're going.
As for ticket prices - well worth it compared to many gig's I've been to.
