Not just the car parks, all main roads around Donnington and the surrounding areas, I had the joy of working in Donnington Friday and Monday while that festival took place. They should be ashamed of themselves how they organised traffic around the village/track.

Hopefully the council will look into this for future events there.
Yep, I travelled from Loughborough to Donnington (Under 9 miles) for the festival on Friday, left shortly before midday, arrived after at close to 7. Took 3 hours to leave the car park on the Saturday too.

Doesn't donnington always have bad traffic when there's a big event like touring cars or brit superbikes?

been to most of the download festivals at Donnington over the last ten years, trip normally takes 20 mins, not 6-7 hours.

I'm sure semi-slicks will be ok to negotiate the festival car park smile

Can't believe how lucky we were getting the 8am ferry over on Thursday.

Met more friends at Morrisons Newport at 9.00 for breakfast, then headed for the festival carparks. (this is significant because these associates left Morrisons about 20 mins later than us and got caught in a 3hr jam, due to the rain)

There was a short delay getting parked up on the (admittedly very soft ground), then it rained again, adding to the previous nights downpour, Which then appeared to paralyse the island.

We were in the site by then and pitching our tents, completely unaware of the chaos back to the ferry ports! eek

Good weekend though. Sorry for any inconvenienced really. Questions will have to be asked of the organisers.

Later, when we were getting more stuff from the car, the festival organiser - John Gitting was approaching us on a quad bike and a local woman flagged him down and gave him a bking, saying that it had taken her 4hrs to get back from town, then she drove off and aggressively beeped some festival goers who were innocently walking toward site, before Swerving onto her drive

I had a great time. Just don't read the press, doom mongers love to paint the worst image possible. And the weather wasn't all bad, as can be seen from the sky whilst watching the match Sunday evening

Aside from the stupid parking situation (I managed to get into the car park at 11am after arriving on the 10am Ferry) it was a superb weekend!
