Don't most people just carry a spare flint under the felt pad?

Well, I've won my Ronson whirlwind for the princely sum of five pounds. It looks a bit battered in the pictures but that endears it to me slightly.

Just need he thing to arrive and I'll post a pic.

Although I'm not a smoker I love the Zippo lighter, so I got this a few years back;-

Took my newly acquired chrome one out for my stag weekend, even got some use out of, lighting 15 cigars.

Due to a few too many drinks, I have no idea where it is now, if anyone was in Brewdog Bar Glasgow this weekend and has it, can I have it back? hehe

In the meantime have ordered a matt black one which I plan on being more careful with!

Ta, not quite a zippo but I can see why it's survived intact since the fifties! Feels bombproof! And somehow Bondesque. And all for seven quid including postage. Mental...

Very nice indeed. Reminds me of my Grandad - he repaired watches and lighters and had a biscuit tin full of bits. I'm sure he had one of those.

It's not a proper Zippo, but this thread just reminded me that I have this:

Dug out my Grandad's, which he gave to me just before he passed telling me, you made it so. Hopefully you'll see by theengraving why I'm far too scared to take it out the house...

The engraving is lovely, absolutely perfect, yet it was probably before common use of CNC. It goes through the chrome to the brass, so really stands out. Sorry for the poor quality pics.

Not a Zippo owner or regular smoker, but I do enjoy a Davidoff No 2 at Xmas!

So I have a nice silver ST DuPont Ligne 2 for those special occasions!
