I wonder what satisfaction the lowlifes who throw paintstripper over cars get out of doing it? I'll never understand that sort of mentality but I know I'd give the bds plenty of time to think about it if it were up to me frown

doesn't look in bad condition either, shame about the paint, looks like vandalism sadly? If that's all that's wrong it's well worthy of saving.

These Facels were at Sunday's Duxford show. What can you tell me about the rather gauche one on the left?

(do you see what I did there?)

I think it's been commented on here before but I can't remember the details.

from another website:

It is also known as the Facel Vega HK 500 "Zagato". But the name is misleading, for it wasn't built by Zagato. This car was built for a British member of the Amicale Facel Vega. Everything was revised and modernized in order to create a "modern classic": steering, suspension, 8.2-litre-engine, overdrive,... . The rebuild should have lasted 3 years, in fact it lasted 12 years. The owner even thinks of installing a Dodge Viper engine.

Excellent! Thanks! I've been hunting for information on that car since seeing it at Goodwood ~2 years ago! thumbup

Wow! Never seen that odd Facel before, wish I'd gone to Duxford, it's only a 15 minute drive away. frown

Saw that turquoise HK500 at Goodwood last year. Stunning.

Yes it seems that during the modification process, the elegance and style of the Facel Vega marque has been lost in translation somewhat. I'd take the turquoise one over it any day.

Dare I post on this thread..... , I hope this lovely Alvis TD21 qualifies as a Classic !

Spotted this beauty parked at Asda in Gosforth, Newcastle. Nice chat to the owner who had the car refurbished some 10 years ago, only the second owner from new and despite the body looking a little tired, the engine bay was lovely.

Saw a large '30s Bentley in the outside lane of the M25 yesterday afternoon around the M40 turn I was heading the other wayso didn't get much of a look but looked a "used" car, driven by a Gent in the obligatory flying helmet - looked superb!

Ahhh ... classic elegance. So very rare in modern rearrangements of tin you can purchase today.

I think he did quite well - only used 2 spaces, could have almost reasonably used 4.

Wouldn't like to park it at Asda though!
