1986 ex-MOD 110 2.5 petrol
10 months test (no advisories, methinks an MOT tester somewhere has a nice bottle of whisky)
3 months tax
Decent chassis and bulkhead
Unassisted steering
Scabby

Ok, it's REALLY slow, noisy but I'm really rather pleased. Wouldn't mind a soft top actually...

Quite.

I'll be using mine for all the stty jobs that my 90 is too nice for:

Wet dogs
Chainsaw and logs
Tip runs
If I get the roof off I might even bolt my clay trap to the floor.

Cheers, yeah this cost less than front discs and pads for my impreza.

My wife thinks I'm nuts but I wouldn't spend £750 on a Mulberry Handbag wink

paid £700 for mine as well, but got a galv chassis into the bargain smile

the trade-off being I needed to finish assembling it myself as the bloke had no clue hehe

with a bit of fettling you can have this

Is that a 110 or 130? Looks huge!! Very cool though.

And nice car OP, the clay trap idea sounds brilliant, is it a manual or automatic (the trap)?

A fair bit of fettling! Very nice, what wheel arch extensions are those?

Is it a full roll cage or half cage and sticks?

It's a 110 on 33 inch tyres from the look of it... definitely not a 130

wheel arches look like these ones

http://www.flatdoguk.com/defender-90-%2F-110-%2B50...

appears to be a half cage with sticks to me.

Definitely a 110. Us that not yours? Sorry, that's why I was asking all the questions!

Top purchase. Don't know why but Land Rovers seem to get cooler as they get older. You could park that outside any posh London hotel and it wouldn't look out of place. You need to buy a camouflage jacket to go with it.

massive win...I do want one of these and at that price its super tempting. Was it just A N Other classified or from a specific site/publication?

Well, a really slow Landy has been getting slower...and slower...and slower.

Absolut max is now 50mph. Filters are fine, carb isn't clogged, no leaks, good exhaust. Any tips? I'm guessing dodgy fuel pump maybe. frown

Cheers

Pump timing? I remember my Tdi needing that to be dead right or it lost massive amounts of power.

I can't believe these are down to sub £1k for a working, MOT'd version. Must resist!

Worth checking all ignition and resetting the carb. My old series 3 was a nightmare but after faffing with both we managed to get it to 70mph!

Good to see there are still cheap Series/90-130/Defenders knocking about, looked the other day as I've wanted one as a play thing for years and got a bit depressed at how much the prices of even very untidy ones seems to have shot up. Top work OP, even with the possible fuel problem! Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious.
