Like the old pics , especially the CB750 K0 ? in the background
Cheers!

Funnily enough I've just been offered an old Honda just like that, however I don't have the space for another project at the moment. Maybe later in the year...

Only looks like a 1.8 though, you'll need the 3.0 24v one!

To be honest, I don't think I could ever part with it when finished! I get attached to my projects, soon the house will be chock full of old bikes!

Fully up to date with you now (made a good way to spend lunchtime) coffee

I love how well the coils cleaned up, I love the attention to detail you have.

Thanks for the kind words!

I've skimped over a few details (the wheels!) but now I just want to get the thing running and can sort out the little bits this coming winter.

I'm not sure what the next one will be, but I'd definitely like to keep this in the living room when it's finished!

Time to start searching for that pre-1920 Triumph you were after ages ago. That would be a simple little project after this one smile

Sorry it has taken a while to update this, it's been a busy few weeks. I've had to stop work for the time being as we're now in the process of moving house, and I have a six week assignment in Sakhalin coming up. This means I will have roughly two weeks to get the bike finished for the Festival of 1000 Bikes when I get back!

Anyway, the following is work I did a couple of weeks ago, the bike is now sat in my mates garage under a tarp waiting for me to come back and finish it off!

So, the first thing I did was get my new engine mounts into my freshly rebuilt engine...

Shiny support tubes.

Engine mounting points.

First rubber going in.

I also go t my brand new looms from the States, far better than my old crusty items.

Installing the loom.

Another gratuitous shot of my electrical gubbins.

The old loom, note non of the plugs have clips on them, the new ones did which meant they didn't fit through the electrical gubbin mount.

So I just cut them off...

All mounted (ooo err)

See the blue wire on the left? I have no idea what this is for! There isn't one on my old loom!

Fitting the loom onto the frame.

Engine bolts needed a clean up.

Polished washers.

Getting the engine ready for lifting back into the frame (I got the wife to help me with this bit!).

Engine sat on trolley jack (this was actually a lot of hard work, the bloody thing weighs 80 kilos!).

First engine mount to be bolted up!

I reconnected the oil pump with a new pipe as the old one had gone really brittle.

Second engine mount.

Shiny new points cover.

Old and new.

All fitted - it looks bloody awesome!

Got the expansion tank fitted.

One foot peg and the brake pedal fitted.

New brake light switch.

Brake switch wired up (and that mystery blue wire!).

Well, that is it for the time being. The hard part is done. I have just had a call saying my painted bits are ready, they are being delivered this week. Then I just need to get the bike reassembled, running, MOT'd, insured and a tax disc and I can use it!

More updates to follow at the beginning of July...

smile

Looking really good Bob. It's always "heart in mouth" time when you're re-fitting the engine, just in case you scratch the frame, so it's good to see you've got that tricky job done. On the home straight now!
