I did manage to catch the back of the frame, but I just put a bit of black enamel on it so you don't really notice! The wife helped me lift it in, she is really quite strong! Once I get my painted bits back I reckon it should take me about a week to re-assemble, just a shame I've had to put it all on hold!Mr Snap said:

I haven't kept a proper track of it all, plus I think I've told the wife a sort of made up figure that may be a lot less than reality...
To be honest, not too much, if I had paid somebody to the work it would have easily crept up towards the twenty grand mark. So far my biggest cost was the engine, which I wanted doing properly so I also got Barry (the engine chap) to rebuild my engine and carbs at the same time, purely to save me the effort. That came to about two grand. Then there was the painted bits which were around five hundred notes, plus parts and bits and bobs.
I've tried to do as much myself as I can, I reckon all in, including the purchase cost of the bike I'll have done it for about eight grand. It'll be worth a bit more than that so if I ever come to sell it, I won't be out of pocket (this doesn't happen much with restorations!!).

Aye, the only way to get the engine in is to man handle it into the frame, with two people and a trolley jack underneath for support it wasn't too difficult (but a bit fiddly!).PS you might have looked at "my garage" before posting!

Evening all... It's been a while since I updated this thread, mainly due to moving house, moving jobs and general family stuff. Anyway, today I decided to get into the garage and go through my boxes and get restarted. I'm still trying to get a new work bench sorted and get my garage in order but at least I've started again.
Anyway, today I decided to start of easy, I cleaned up the radiator guard. It is pretty badly tarnished, but a couple of hours polishing with some Autosol brought it right back up again. It could really do with being re chromed, but to be honest funds are a lot tighter than they were twelve month ago so I decided to employ some good old fashioned elbow grease. It came up a treat.
Looking a bit dull...

Lots of surface corrosion.



After a bit of effort:

Some more polishing:

The end result:



I also got some of my newly painted bits out, they look fantastic. Everything is so fresh and bright, can't wait to see it on the bike!





Another couple of the tank as it looks awesome!
