Anyone see the Mattysse/Peterson fight?
I laughed before the fight when they pictured Danny Garcia doing the Seb Vettel 'No 1' finger sign, only to look he had shat his pants after seeing Mattysse destroy Peterson!
If the fight is scheduled in September, I can't see Garcia getting past 5 rounds; Mattysse will trade all day long and knock out anyone!
Interestingly, Amir Khan is now thinking of sticking at 140 and having a showdown with Mattysse.
Love him or hate him, you got to admire his desire to fight the best; it may sound arrogant at times but at least has the courage to step in the ring with the best in the division!

Yes- 'been a big Matthysse fan for a couple of years and think he's the or one of the hardest punchers pound for pound in boxing today. I jokingly predicted to my brother - who had only seen him once before - that the'd decapitate or retire Peterson and he was well impressed. Peterson is as tough as old boots and always gets back up and into it when knocked down but Matthysse was just too hard for him.I laughed before the fight when they pictured Danny Garcia doing the Seb Vettel 'No 1' finger sign, only to look he had shat his pants after seeing Mattysse destroy Peterson!

I admire Khan's determination but think he'd get done very badly if he risked it. Ditto Garcia - he's too hittable and even with what looks like a good chin I don't think he'd do as well as his cocky actions suggest.

He was acting the business before the fight (Garcia) but had donned the white sunnies to hide the look of fear in his eyes by the end of the fight. Christ, Mattysse looks solid. AnonSpoilSport said:

Yep, not just AK, I think everyone is fearing the power Mattysse. I saw his fights with Zab and Devon and I don't know how he lost both fights - highly debatable.Garcia doesn't bring anything into the ring, I don't rate him at all. Mattysse is going to prove this.
I think from all the boxers in the division, AK will give him the best fight purely because of his lightening hands but when that concentration drops (and it always does with him) - BANG . . It'll be another Garcia like knockdown!
It's not a foregone conclusion, remember Zab and Devon took Mattysse the full rounds so it is possible for AK to get a result if he hangs in there and uses his brain.
The next 6-9 months are very interesting in the light welterweight division

Like HR, I feel sorry for the man. The sign-off letter was very touching and he should have let that stand as a testament to his dignity.

I think this is a poor show from Carl. I realise he's probably trying to up the PPV takings but even so. Not a clever thing to say imo.

Silly and OTT but I think he must be getting himself psyched up and also 'talking the talk' - doubt he means it. He was only recently describing how much he likes Kessler in the build up shows.
My worry is that the guilt/embarrassment might play on his mind and be a distraction now + knowing he went too far with the 'fierceness' maybe take some (too much) of the psyche and anger away. So silly.

Is it my imagination or has he been noticeably more tetchy in the build up to this fight? As well as the stuff with Kessler, he's also been spitting a bit of venom towards Groves. Even Rob McCracken was coming out with some crap on the radio yesterday...can't tell whether that's just the natural culmination of the build up to the fight or whether psychologically there are signs of strain starting to show.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/boxin...

I think Groves has rattled him by talking about fighting Froch soon - when Froch doesn't see him as being anywhere near his level or ready, so insulting - and by him and Cleverley helping Kessler with sparring. Hasn't Adam Booth stirred it a bit by suggesting Groves has got into Froch's head and a psychological edge over him, who let slip(!) that he'd dropped Groves in sparring...
