Apols for long silence - I was moving house and also mad busy at work , and so offline for over a week. Kate, we are now in touch. Digger, did you see my PM? Cheers.
PS:- look what I saw the other day at a village near Chinnor, Oxon. I know what it is, but how many of you dudes do? Name that car - NO GOOGLING!
PPS: I mean the red one. The white one is easy.

... is the correct answer!
It looks like a stalled project. All pretty sound externally, with the unusually large for the era steel wheels. The interior has fabulous large clocks and tatty but reasonable bucket seats. State of engine etc unknown (indeed, I can't tell if an engine is even present). I am sooooooo tempted to try to find the owner and see if he wants to sell, but I must resist.

The Tri-Pacer is indeed a fine aeroplane - perhaps the last proper kite that Piper made? Talking of aeroplanes, for the last few days, a couple of dudes, one in an Extra, one in a Cap 10, have been practising their aeros competition routines using the Chinnor Road as their line feature. They are both pretty good, and they put on a good show, but they need to be a bit more neighbourly and vary their practice location, as not everyone enjoys the sound of Lycomings at full throttle as much as I do.
