She highlighted six areas including;
1 The decision of the last two Westminster governments to cut capital spending which would have supported an additional 19,000 jobs in Scotland
2 The UK government's failure to establish an oil fund for future generations, similar to the Norwegian fund now worth an estimated £450bn
3 The decision by the UK government to engage in a boom in credit and debt expansion
4 Allowing income inequality to grow dramatically in the UK
5 The decision to concentrate economic activity in London
6 And the decision to pursue austerity rather than focus on growing the economy.

A Darling just been on R4 giving his views.
I'm not a labour supporter however everything he said I totally agreed with, I'd say the rUK have a very good pair of hands in him.
He seems to be raising all the sensible questions we want to hear answers
How will Scotland deal with the state pensions?
I wonder on this point if they became Independant as there is no pension fund its not inconceivable that the transfer value is the same or greater than Scotland's proportion of our National debt maybe this is where they walk away debt free but take on full liabilities for the pensions.
How will Scotland deal with an older demographic - specifically on state pension affordability?
What is the point in asking why there is no Wealth fund or if it had been set up things would be different - sure they would but those decisions have been made there is no fund nor will there be one. Rhotorical question is good but meaningless now.
A Darling was clear o the currency situation and fr Scotland to use the sterling the whole of the UK would have a vote on it and of they were allowed he flagged up it would be like a straight jacket just like the Euro basically at odds with what Independance should be like.

A Salmond on R4.
Question of oil and its variability.
His view prices will be steadily increasing and that based on reserve forecasts there is £1.5trillion in tax revenue to come out. He eats to create an oil fund which can then be used to take the volatility out of te oil prices.
What happens if a yes vote happens and then those who voted yes are not happy with what you are able to negotiate? Totally avoided the question just mumblings about being a good neighbour and we will work it out...
Euro - his response well Westminster and all parties have gone quiet about it too so there is no need to defend that change.
Sterling - we are good neighbours so will have a fair result and be able to impact, he was challenged that Scotland would be a different country to which he said it would be pragmatic as we are good friendly neighbours.
He deflected the question about the leaked report from his own finance minister about the funding being questionable ad risky.
So I didn't gain any further insights.

Hold on, I thought it was £1.5tn wholesale value, not tax returns. £1.5tn is 150 years at £10bn per year tax revenues...
Sturgeon was also fibbing last Thursday - she dodged the "Scotland's ageing population" by saying Scotland's pop. isn't ageing quicker than the rUK, contrary to her GERS figures.

As Darling says, they've produced a paper moaning about what previous and present UK governments have done.Reason 1 = Not spending enough
Reason 2 = Spending too much
Reason 3 = Borrowing too much
Reason 4 = Allowing people to become rich

What is the point?
I'm sure an independent Scotland's electorate will be delighted to save our oil revenues for future generations, when we're spending billions more than we tax, and the economy is showing early signs of growth

I might get round to reading it fully. So far i haven't seen anyuthing which hasn't been countered on this thread previously (i got about page 20). The quality shows though: just look at Salmonds face on pg2/ his signature on page 3 and then try reading the graphics on page 4....Maybe I don't need to bother finishing reading it.
