Bit disappointing. Gameplay videos didn't seem quite right and the focus on tv and film is a little out of place for a games console.

it was a shame all the game play were cut scenes which make it impossible to determine actual game footage because cut scene's always look so polished as they are pre-rendered and nothing more than video

Kinect hardware bundled in means only one thing to me, more expense for something ill never use, looking at £400 at launch id guess plus 2nd controller and a couple of games a nice round £500.

Hopefully you can turn off the voice command though, i can already see it now.

Me: Play CoD
Missus: Watch Eastenders
Me: Play CoD
Missus: Side Snap Eastenders

Forza 5 looks awesome. So long as it will play my old 360 games I'll buy asap after launch, if not then I'll wait.

Sending additional processing to the cloud and receiving it sounds like a good idea. But what happens when you don't have the required internet speed and the game you want to play requires this cloud computing to function?

Can open, worms everywhere.

It's not like PC gaming where you could physically upgrade if your PC was too slow; for some people it would be impossible to play.

PS4 has the majority of the exclusive games I want by a landslide, but Xbox has Forza. Looks like I'll be getting both again then (I bought a 360 just so I could play Forza II, III, IV and Horizon).

No DDR5 memory... yowsers. That could be a massive oversight for a console that needs a decent lifespan. One step behind Sony already.

Not really an issue.

£400 for the console on Zavvi.com. The games have an RRP of £49.99.

That seems to be the case, games linked to accounts.

"Each gaming disc will be installed for a single owner, and if installed by a second account – say a used buyer – that owner will be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc. This way the new game owner would still have the game stored in the cloud, and able to play it, while the second hand owner could do the same as well."

You could get together with mates to cover the full price game and a few 'licences'?

It depends on a couple of things. Crucially if MS have managed to persuade enough big studios to come on board with the Xbox, the code will be designed for the Xbox to take advantage of the things that DDR3 can do better than GDDR5 (there are a couple of things, even if peak performance for polygons isn't one of them).

The funny thing about this of course is that due to the length of dev cycles, this argument has already run out through the industry, and everyone probably has a very good idea of what the Christmas numbers will be.
