True, but I'd still prefer sub-25k. It's 18months newer than my current car, but with an extra 13,000mi on it.
Don't compare to current car, compare to the bigger picture.Jonny-one-ball is right, that's not massive mileage. If it's been serviced and stuff then I say go for it.
It depends how many miles you are planning to do? No point buying a low mileage car if you're then going to sap the life out of it.

Would quite like it to be fairly young, as it'll be breathed upon at some point. Every Cherished car has a FMSH and most have the TLC Pack added etc. Jonny-one-ball is right, that's not massive mileage. If it's been serviced and stuff then I say go for it.

They're great fun, smart, pokey, sound great, I really like them.
The seating position is great for someone of my stature, so much better than the 207, nice and low, wheel relatively close, pedals far away. There's no room behind me, but it doesn't bother me...
I'm short-haired now anyway, that's what I want the sunroof for!

Seriously Tom, why on earth do you want a Mini - you're a lanky bloke and with you in there, there's not enough space in the passenger seat for your hair let alone anyone or anything else. Dog will have to go in the boot or velcro'd earwise to the roof.
Something bigger surely.
Hate, as ever, to buy into the zeitgiest, but the clubman is acers. It really is. Something bigger surely.
However, if I were a preening metrosexual about town, trying to reconcile my autism and virginity, it would not necessarily be my first choice, quality item though it is.
I think I'm going to have to side with JAYB here, not because I've driven a Mini, but because you've obviously given this thought, they do have their qualities and if you feel it's a purchase that makes you happy whilst ticking other priority boxes then go and do it.
I would say this of course, I'm picking up a diesel Octavia Estate tomorrow.

"Preening metrosexual". I disagree with this illation.I'm also unsure about what you're getting at with the rest.

Well, I've always liked the MINIs design, I think they're a superb drive, I like the tuneability, the levels of customisation, etc. I've wanted one for a long time, and the I can afford a good, LCI Cooper S. Then in steps the Mazda, I've wanted one since they came out, granted not as long as the MINI though. Whilst I'd really rather a 3dr car and the Mazda only comes in 5, the levels of equipment, value for money and performance figures make up for it, despite a potentially flawed drive. A Cooper S is probably the better long-term buy, stronger values, bigger fan base, more prolific dealer facilities, but I feel I might have to compromise on the spec I want which I'd rather not do. The MPS 3 comes with everything as standard, the only variables being price, mileage, condition and colour, of which there are four. I'm not sure the Cooper S is quite quick enough for what I'd like, but John Cooper Works can sort that for me...I would say this of course, I'm picking up a diesel Octavia Estate tomorrow.
This is a very small victory but i'll take it...
I'd kind of given up a bit on getting any more range of motion back in my left foot and ankle til i started doing some quite unpleasant exercises to the underneath of my foot. I was just able to pick up a sock off the floor with my left toes, something i havent been able to do for years.
Well i thought it was good anyway.
