So not only has she knocked a cyclist off his bike, then justified that by claiming "he doesn't even pay road tax", but she's one of those typically moronic young drivers who sees no problem with taking pictures and tweeting while driving. As already pointed out, if she spent less time f

People are all to brave and silly behind a keyboard, but even a luddite like me can find out a lot of information about someone very quickly via google, so lord knows how easy it must be for police and what not to find out exactly what these idiots have been up to.

I ride in Norfolk and a couple of weeks ago I got assaulted on my bike by a bin man in his truck who was pi55ed at the fact I couldn't back my bike up quick enough to let another lorry through who was on my side of the road. Said bin man ran up and pushed me forwards over the handlebars then dragged me across the road and proceeded to push me around and grab me by my face and threatened 'to beat me to a pulp'!
My point is I got witnesses, a picture of him and his truck and yet three weeks later I'm still waiting for the police to come and take a statement. Perhaps I should have started a Twitter campaign or something instead of letting the law run it's course? It's amazing how the media and in particular the social media can change how things seem to be handled.

The moment I tweet about it copying them in, publicly shaming them things start happening pretty quickly. Twitter is great for things like that/this.
There's a few things that this episode has reminded us;
1) never write anything that you would not want to appear on the front page of a newspaper (this includes on PH).
2) if a crime is committed, ensure a berk tweeted about it, as that's how they will come to justice
3) there are some really horrible people on our roads
4) I haven't got a number 4, I just thought I needed one.

On twitter or facebook, a simple comment on their wall will have "Simon, the customer service relationship manager" instantly on the case. A shame, but if you have a genuine complaint getting nowhere it seems the only way to get them to do anyting.Saddle bum said:

It's splitting hairs, but she doesn't appear to have actually knocked him off. The cyclist's description as it being a "blind bend" is also telling. Whilst younger, inexperienced drivers tend to overestimate their abilities, I have to say that using a phone is hardly the preserve of the young or indeed the inexperienced, sadly.

IMHO Its down to a complete lack of consequences in their lives thus far. They can get away with anything they like including breaking the law and get off pretty much scott free, perhaps a light slap on the wrist. This starts with their parents who make excuses for any bad behaviour, dont set boundaries and let them make bad decisions. This continues in school with teachers unable to instill any discipline and fearful of the peado slurs. Police are completely toothless, everyone knows this and are free to take the piss with no fear of serious consequences. They wont for a moment have considered that people not on the same wavelength who disagree with their views would read the tweets and forward them to relevant authorities.What is the likely punishement for this cretin? I bet its a caution if that. That will teach em eh?!
The silly girls we are discussing need a huge dose of reality to shake them from their zombie / sheep like state, to make them realise that the world does not revolve around them. How we do that I dont know, but taking their car / licence away and replacing it with an ancient shopper bike would be a good start.

My last 'incident' involved a car driving on the wrong side of the road directly at me. I can only assume he was trying to queue jump the traffic that was queued for the lights. But they were on red and he would have had nowhere to go even if I wasn't already on the road.
I stopped (obviously) and almost instantly two 'yoofs, innit' jumped out the car and started having a go at me. To which I stated that they were in the wrong, wrong side of road etc. And they could not have given less of a f*ck. As far as they were concerned, I'd stopped them from doing something they wanted to do and therefore, I was the idiot.
I stayed in front of their car for long enough for them to have been later than they would have been if they'd just stayed in the queue but decided to move when they started revving the engine and shouting that they'd make sure I went under the wheels.
Lots of my friends also cycle in London, and can tell similar tales. I can understand motorists being pissed off when cyclists jump lights, ride on the pavements etc, but it seems some just have a hatred for all cyclists regardless of whether or not they've done anything wrong.
WRT to the original story, I hope she gets punished to the full extent of the law. If the story from the cyclist is to be believed, he was knocked off the road and through a hedge. She, therefore, would have no way of knowing if he was OK, injured or dead.
Unfortunately, I bet she just gets a slap on the wrist.

I've only recently ventured into this quiet corner of PH, as a person just about to start road cycling (triathlon coming up never cycled road bike before) this sort st terrifies me and if I'm honest puts me off.
I've got 4 kids and a wife at home who depend on me, and the thought that some selfish bint like this is prepared to drive like this, and then not only brag about it, but to do it publicly, makes you lose faith in people.
