Samsung Galaxy S3
Discussion
Small update on my S3 -
I sent it off to a repair company Modifications.co.uk who have inspected it and confirmed it is completely dead, and with no sign of water damage at all.
I have contacted Samsung UK about having the phone repaired by them, so when I get the phone back I'll be aiming to send it off to them.
As usual, we'll have to wait and see.

Right, pretty pissed off now.
My S3 died a week ago, and now T-Mobile's repair centre are saying it's due to water damage.
I can categorically state that the phone has never been near water in the time I've had it, so I'm ata loss.
I have enclosed the pic of the "proof" they have supplied -

Hasn't made it back to the shop yet, but any advice on how to proceed?
I just feel like I'm about to get ripped off here!
Pretty sure they go a brighter colour than that when they have been exposed. I was worried about mine when it went off for repair as it looked a little pink but the guy in the store said it was fine.My S3 died a week ago, and now T-Mobile's repair centre are saying it's due to water damage.

F**kity grrr. Glass smashed to bits. What's my best course of action?
Depends really, it'll cost about £150 to repair (assuming no insurance etc) with a value of about £200 in good working order.Mazuma gave me £80 for it with the knackered screen so putting the £150 that I didn't spend on repairing the phone together with the £80 gives me enough cash to buy a brand new nexus 4. Although I haven't got round to it yet!
My S3 flew across my (hard floored) hallway last week, sadly made a total hash of the emergency landing and was almost FUBAR. Sent to Sammy for a £170 full refurbish, takes up to two weeks - Will report back on its return. In the interim I am running a FonePad (with bluetooth headset I hasten to add), it is a stunning piece of kit, currently working out how to make room for the Sammy and Asus in my life!!

So my 2nd S3 (first one was replace) is now refusing to charge. It's been on charge all night and has only made it back to 45% Does anybody have any thoughts what could be causing this?
Tonnes of things.Have you tried another charger/lead to begin with?
Have had a couple of USB leads that went faulty ($1 chinese tat though).

I do suspect the USB cable. I had the standard one, but that's in my car. Which is in another country. I'm using a cable now that's worked perfectly in the past with the stock charger and it starts charging. Then stops. Then starts again. I would suspect it's hardware but it's sat on the desk not doing anything when it's stopping and starting.Have you tried another charger/lead to begin with?

Change the cable and possibly the adaptor. I was having problems with my phone not charging, I tried various cables that wouldn't work, so I thought it was the phone, but it wasn't, you just have to find the right cable. For some reason the S3 is very fussy about the cable you use. I'm using the wife's nexus 4 cable now with no issues.BlackBerry, Nokia and HTC refused to work.

So it would appear it's a cable issue. Certain cables work with certain chargers. Oddly some will say they are charging when connected, but not actually charge, others will charge for 2 minutes and then stop charging.BlackBerry, Nokia and HTC refused to work.
The official charger and cable seem to be ok though. What cables have you had success with?

The wifes Blackberry cable broke and so she used my Nokia 920 one, it worked fine, we ordered a £2.99 cable off of ebay and it wouldn't even fit into the charge point on either phone, yet it was a micro USB cable, all very odd.

i think the phone can sense the 'quality' of the cable, and it seems to know which ones are the cheap ebay specials..

The only ones I've got working are the Nexus 4 cable and a Motorola cable from a mobile data terminal at work. I'm using my HTC plug, as the Samsung one stopped working. The official charger and cable seem to be ok though. What cables have you had success with?
Download galaxy charging current from the store and it will tell you which cables are working properly
