Thanks dude, I can't wait until I can get this sucker out in the canyons. I've got this gnarly scar from the bottom of my skull down to my shoulder blades now...
I think I'll have to get a zipper tattooed on it..

You should see the other guy..biggrin

Thanks dude, the neck is coming along nicely. I took a good long ride out to the paint shop with the car on the flatbed yesterday and I can now turn my head left and right fast enough to scan the mirrors. So it looks like I'll be able to at least drive a normal car for now....

Awesome.

I was talking to Junks about the car not so long ago. He turns up at most of our Lotus race meetings so our conversations normally get around to your car fairly quickly.

Glad to hear your on the mend.

Phil is a good friend and a stand up guy. Without his help this insane project would never have happened, I don't know wether to thank him or curse him for his help. Even if only about 10% of the original fiberglass is left in the build process.

Now what the hell am I gonna do with the extra 211 body I bought ? banghead

or maybe buy a damaged elise s2 and turn it into a 2-11
and then sell it on with a profit?

I would never do another project like this again no matter how much someone wants to pay for it...

I won't blame you biggrin

guess your longs still filled with some dust ;-)

then sell it on, maybe someone else can turn his damaged Elise into a normal 2-11
and make it a track tool for warm days.

Thanks dude, I figured I was gonna do something on the odd side and if it didn't work out I could always go back to a stock 211 body but after a few days of carbon fiber dust in the lungs it's like crack and took control over what little thought process I had from the beginning of this project...

If it turned out like ste I would have blamed you ya know....biggrin

Cheers mate.

Came upon this topic by accident while browsing and a hoping I can get some associated science from you obviously seriously interested intelligent well informed thinking people[enough of the crawling to get you interested]
Imagine a long fast power slide or drift if you will!I think it is torque not BHP that causes the tyres to lose grip. When you moderate the throttle because you are beginning to overdo it does the car not spin because the wheel speed slows or because the torque drops? Turbos are routinely used for drifting [I assume because of the higher torque and once in the band lag in its broadest use does not appear to matter] so is a torque curve of the miniature BHP curve shape[ie climbing gradually] better or worse for good control than a flat [horizontal] 'curve' covering a few thou revs. In other words does it need a drop off of torque or does the wheel speed do the job?

I suspect the car was fkin mental fast when it had half the power and twice the weight!

Christ knows what it is now.
