So did I and I can't stand the man
Which was sort of one of his points. He abhors UKIP, but still thinks that everyone should have a say, not whomever the SNP feel should have a say. He was spot on. His point about Salmond missing g a chance to be statesmanlike was absolutely spot on.

Makes interesting viewing, why on earth would Salmond want it banned?
A free Scotland my arse...
I thought Galloway was superb on that subject. A free Scotland my arse...

If Sturgeon says anything half-way sensible I fear my head may explode. No worries there though, thankfully.

"THE SNP is attempting to force a Holyrood vote censuring the BBC's Question Time programme for featuring Nigel Farage and George Galloway in an edition broadcast from Edinburgh.
Nationalist MSP Kenneth Gibson yesterday tabled a parliamentary motion objecting to the presence of the Ukip and Respect leaders on the panel, on the grounds that their parties have no elected representatives in Scotland."
I wonder why?

They really don't get it, do they?
QT seems to often throw in irrelevant panel guests probably just to keep some folk awake in that late time slot .... this time they went a bit too far & deserve an ever so gentle nudge towards better balance ... bringing on Farage and his anti-eu rhetoric doesn't play well when at least 2/3 of the people up here want to remain in eu ... used to be a fan of Galloway but he seems to have gone off on a wild tangent regarding Scotland while still making sense with other comments he made (he's up to something?) ... Ruthie wasn't making much sense either, nothing new for her! barky said:

Doesn't play well? Are you taking the SNP stance there? Seems an odd stance. What tangent did he take with regards to Scotland?

Well if you get independence you'll be able to have your own QT, with panelists handpicked by the SNP to say how great they are and talk b
ks. Same thing happening with your tourism department. SNP sticking their nose in and saying what's important.

Same thing happening in Universities with the SNP wanting to stick their nose into what should be taught.

The thing is, nats seem to be fine with it. Edinburger wants as many laws as possible and ViperGrudge wants people to f
k off out of his country if he doesn't agree with what they say.barky said:

Not sure this QT had any more of an eclectic mix than they usually have. They put David Starkey on regularly FFS.However, a vote of censure at Holyrood (on top of the stupid comments by Salmond about the Farage incident and the ridiculous posturing by the SNP chubster on QT) rather indicates that the SNP are rabidly anti free speech. "They cannae take our freeeeeeedom (but we can take your freedom to express other views than ours)".

Poll was over a year ago though.
an old poll from before the EU issue became a hot topic again in UK politics thanks to rise of far right & wishes of backbench torys ... that has swayed things a bit towards support for EU since then as that shift brings prospect of draconian policy change to workers rights etc etc http://www.ipsos-mori.com/researchpublications/res...

"When asked how they would vote in a referendum on whether Britain should stay in or leave the EU, just over half of Scots said they would vote to stay in (53%), compared with a third who said they would vote to leave 34%"
Not over 2/3rds then

53 seems a far way from that. In fact, it is closer to half than 2/3rds.

k off out of your country too.
Would it be childish to compare the tiny minority (34%) who want to leave the EU in Scotland who should be denied a voice with the vast majority (31%) who want to leave the UK who should should have the only say in scottish politics ?
