Sitting in St Peter's, Surrey right now for the same thing. GWS matey and keep the leg moving if you can as an obstruction at the back of the leg can imped the circulation a bit. Keep the leg raised an if the leg gets any worse, get yourselve down to the out of hours GP/A+E ASAP.
Last night the leg swelled a lot worse than before, to the extent that the skin on the back of my knee and calf felt completely hard and as if it would burst.
Was home alone, couldn't sleep and by 3AM I was starting to have anxiety attack over fear of blood clots etc frown

Today it's a bit better, but after my MRI scan I went to the GP to get it checked out.

Seems I might have overdone it yesterday as I went to shops and spent a couple of hours at my desk at home sorting paperwork.

He's now instructed me to keep the foot higher than my chest (I'm struggling with that) and keep ice on it.

So I'm set up in the family room in front of TV with heater on and leg on pillows on a crate. How excitement frown
I'm allowing myself to walk around for 5 minutes every couple of hours (and occasionally come to the computer wink ) as he did say I need to keep flexing the calf

Saw the surgeon last Friday with the MRI results.

Good news is the ACL damage that is usually associated with the fracture in the knee isn't bad enough to need surgery.

Bad news is I have to continue like this for at least another 2 weeks, he will reassess on 3/7 and may let me return to work part time/light duties.

Huge stack of stuff I could be doing at home but can't. Income will finish this week, insurance claim (which will cover loss of income) will take ages. Found out I can claim interim sickness benefits (won't even cover half my rent) but because I've been silly enough to work my whole life and have never dealt with Centrelink they are making it very hard.
Before I can lodge a claim I have to provide a "Proof of arrival" document, which I have to get from another Govt dept, which they could access themselves. I arrived here in 1970... I became an Australian citizen in the 80s... I've paid tax for 35 years, but they still need me to spend all day yesterday on hold with 3 different depts to try to get this certificate mad

bloody immigrants trying to claim benefits when they get hurt not being a citizen wink

at least you have paid tax, unlike loads of people round here who have not paid a penny in there whole live wink

anyway, how your leg gets better soon, if your not taking painkillers, take some NSAID'S like aspirin as thats a blood thinner and it will lessen the chance of clots. I found that out after a recent operation, and where I was cut bled fking loads lol, so dont take them if you have an OP or have been cut...

if it was me getting my leg hit by another bike that had washed out, it would have probably snapped my leg off lol, so props to you, for having hard legs.

rofl my legs are pretty skinny actually, looking at the swollen left one now and thinking it looks like what I've been trying to achieve for years in the gym smile

I am actually an Oz citizen, have dual nationality/passports.

Yeah the recorded messages I got while on hold to Centrelink and Immigration made me realise how much easier it would be if I was on the dole/ a disadvantaged minority or an illegal immigrant, seems like they would despatch a team of specialists to my door to walk me through the process of claiming a myriad of benefits rolleyes

That's absolutely rubbish mate!

Re the lights, living here I can totally understand what happened. The phases are much longer than the UK, think ambers are 4-5 seconds, so it's not at all unusual to cruise on through... uless there's a camera.

PM sent.
Ah I won't get that, no idea what email address I had all those years ago when I joined PH...I'll try PMing you my email

Cheers, shame about the Hyo, served me well as a first bike. I'm trying to sell the SV1000S and want to replace it with a 'busa as my "good road bike". I'll be keeping the CBR600 as my track/hoon bike, really want to get a road/trail as well.
Kym has a Ninja 250 (well she actually has 2 the same as her friend gave her one) she's ready to upgrade... now we're back together we'll prolly end up with a shared fleet of maybe 4 bikes eventually

eek This bit would have had me freaking out!

"Next day it's much worse, I lift my leg to put a sock ona nd 'click' AAARGH!! as my foot moves sideways"
Yeah the "AAARGH!!!" was actually a LOT louder than that, serious pain but fortunately fairly brief

Bored, reading old threads... should close this one with an update. No lasting damage, insurance paid all my lost income and medical fees, plus a decent chunk of compensation which I hadn't expected. This paid for my fantastic holiday in England and France last year.
Was at a gig tonight with the mate who ran into me.
Finally sold (traded) my SV1000S and sold my CBR600RR. Now just 1 bike, a brand new 015 CBR1000RR. Loving it.
