I made 40+ faction members in week 5 last night but jeez the MP is hard. the lack of ammo and crafting makes for an interesting spin tbh.
I wish other players would realise that teamwork is more vital than anything on the mp.
I've put a hold on the story mode as I kept getting mullered by the clickers, I need to hone my weapon selection and melee skills in quick time to get past a difficult bit and I'm only about 10% of the way through I think.
in short, I'm really liking the intensity and the lack of "run and gun" about the mp mode.

I think the MP is ace, but... i don't understand this Faction members and being in a clan etc, and this week 1 day 1 sI wish other players would realise that teamwork is more vital than anything on the mp.

te, what does it all mean??At the moment i have 25 Faction members and i'm on Week 2 Day 2 or something like that, what happens when i get to the end of the 12 weeks or what ever it is lol.
Picked this up on Saturday and it's basically zapped my weekend, I can't believe it's Monday already. This game is fantastic and rightly deserves all the glowing reviews.
Yes the path you have to take is pretty linear but when a game is this atmospheric who cares. The story, the relationships that develop between the very realistic characters, the very adult writing and tone all add up to make it one hell of a game. The linearity is also combated by the fact that you can handle each stage\encounter in so many different ways. Do I go sneaky and shiv people from behind, do I craft some bombs\bobby traps and lure the enemy in? Do I go in all guns blazing? The fact that ammo is also scarce makes every situation tense as you have to make your shots count or find more creative ways to take out your opponents. About 6 hours into the game and loving it so far and that's before I even got into the multiplayer!
Again what an awesome addition, I was wondering how they were going to able to implement the tense atmosphere of the main game into multiplayer but they've managed to do it superbly. Make no mistake this is no Call of Duty run and gun affair, it's a lot more cerebral than that as you face the same shortage of ammo and need to be creative and in fact downright sneaky to outwit and out think your opponents if you want to win. Again many creative ways to take the other team out with different guns, melee weapons and booby traps etc. I was the last man standing last night against 3 other players and hiding and trying to take them out 1 by 1 without being cornered\mobbed was one of the most tense gaming experiences I've had long time and my heart was literally racing by the end of it, superb!

the way I see it is this.
When you first start MP you choose your faction. You then get followers. when you get to 40 you get a Factions bronze trophy and I think, if you get to 12 weeks and complete all the missions that either add or subtract from your following i.e. survivors you are supporting, and some are still alive you complete the faction.
you then need to do the other side and go through a similar process.
the missions get progressivley tougher and 'm not 100% certain if you need 40 at the end of 12 weeks to complete the MP or just 1? I think that if all your followers die you have to start again....

What I find interesting is that for the two games so far this year that have the most interesting characters (Bioshock Infinite and this), both leads are voiced by the same guy and you'd have no idea unless you knew, as his voice and accent are totally different in both games.
Is he the same guy/voice in Red Dead Redemption? y2blade said:

No, but he has done lots of other games:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Baker#Video_game...
I have been looking forward to this game for months, as i am a big Naughty Dog/Unchartered fan. Have managed a few hours playtime, and tbh the jury is out i'm afraid. Very linear (much more so than the recent Tomb Raider) and riddled with cut scenes. The combat, especially with guns, is not as good as Unchartered - do you get the ability to zoom at some stage?
Feels similar to Unchartered in many ways, but so far i don't think it is as good. Need to give it more time, but first impressions are underwhelming.

Can you zoom in real life?Feels similar to Unchartered in many ways, but so far i don't think it is as good. Need to give it more time, but first impressions are underwhelming.
I think they were aiming for something more realistic (not that some zombie infection is that realistic!)
I'd agree it's a little linear but it seems to have a cracking story and it visually looks great.
There's been a cut scene on average every 2-3 hours for me, it's no more linear than uncharted and there's actually more to be done in terms of scouring the environments and making sure you thoroughly explore every environment.
As for the combat, Nate slaughtered more men than the plague and still comes out with a cheery one-liner at the end of it. Each and every kill in this game is a struggle that you're glad to survive, they're often messy and improvised and it's a much more powerful experience because of it. You don't find yourself romping through the enemy, but considering each and every move in order to stay alive.
You can unlock a zoom on appropriate weapons, but you've bought the wrong game if you wanted more of Uncharted, that was Indiana Jones and this is The Road.

2 and a bit hours in and it's very good. A bit linear as people have said and I have had a few problems like him not being able to vault in a place he was supposed to (it did work eventually) and not climbing ladders. Took me a while to realise that the AI doesn't see your companions when sneaking either.
I really like the panicky fights, gave a real 'oh s
t I'm going to die feel' to the game.

I don't mind that it is linear. I mind that all the reviews hinted that it wasn't. Good game though. Scissors on a pipe and the clickers can get clucked. Very good game, about 2 hours in, but played for about 3 I think with replays.
Kept dying during the first clicker\runner section in the old building.
Kept losing the ability to see as was so dark, so watched a video online to see if I was doing something wrong, their screen was much brighter and realised I hadn't set the brightness correctly in game.
Once that was sorted I could actually see so could realise waypoint plans for runners etc.
Back outside now in little museum and clickers have just appeared again!
Playing it in little chunks as the constant stealth and watching is actually tiring on the eyes after a while.
So installed resistance 3 as I gave up on resistance 2, seems a much better game than R2 and better story.
PS3 is getting all the use at the moment, just hope the blighter doesn't YLOD!

well I got nailed 100% losses in week 6 mission, missed the target by 1, back to the beginning, actually no bad thing as I will learn that the missions are progressivley more difficult and that crafting is a key part of the game play.
I made it up to 41 clan members before the big zero!
leaderboard had 201 last night
must be boosting! lol

What a great game - finished it last night and was really taken by the quality of the story... it's worthy of a movie!
There is a cut scene later in the game involving animals (I hope that's not too much of a spoiler) and I don't think I've ever seen such amazing CGI in a game.
I'm struggling to find any constructive complaints... hmm.. nope, it's a 10/10 for sure.
