BMW E30 M3: Time for Tea?

Patience is a virtue, at least for one M3-fixated car nut starring in latest Petrolicious vid

One thing guaranteed with a Petrolicious video is a great story. Whether it's fulfilling a childhood dream with a Countach, or building a house around a Ferrari 512BB, a passionate owner with a long-term love affair for the featured car is a given.

No wonder Gabor's grinning throughout the interview
No wonder Gabor's grinning throughout the interview
Today's video features Gabor Mester and his E30 M3, owned now for seven years. Without putting too fine a point on it, the M3 kickstarted Gabor's car fascination.

We won't tell the whole story here, but the M3 was once owned by family friends. From cleaning it as a teen through saving to purchase it as an adult, this particular M3 has been in Gabor's affections for a long time. The happiness with which the story is told by Gabor is infectious; like the best clichéd rom-com, he was lusting after something close that he couldn't have for a long time. With the M3 now his, you sense he'll never let it go.

As we've also come to expect with Petrolicious, this vid has a gorgeous location and a starring role for that screaming S14 engine to keep you watching as well. The perfect accompaniment to your afternoon brew. Enjoy!

If we're doing Petrolicious videos, this E28 M5 video is worth a watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQKOsDi5HsU

Great Story, Great Vid, Great Car....oddly enough I preferred my E30 325i to the M3 Evo I had, I just did not get on with Left Hooker on UK roads....I Know.....this is like admitting to some odd sexual fantasy on a forum but there you go..I said it! I also sold mine for under £10k, before they went up in value. Doh!

I've seen a few on E28s... they all seem to say the same thing: "I want to be buried in it"

Awesome noise! I just had it playing the background. Who needs to see the car when it sounds like that.

Reminds me of my belated Buell. The sound was just incredible. Gave me shivers every time I fired up the engine.

Sound is everything with a performance car! smile

It would probably handle even better if the tracking/handwheel alignment had been done properly! ;-)

I was very very lucky to get a ride in a E30 M3 once, with an Evo engine and some mild tuning.

That NOISE... glorious cloud9

Best car(s) i own. Have 2 track prepped that i got back when u could pick them up for near quarter of the cost of what they are now. sad thing is they cost multiples of that to keep on the track year in year out.

The BEST car I have ever owned. Gutted I sold it (£6500.00 - 7 years ago - proper car as well). I cry every time I see one....
I went round Hethel test track in it with the lotus test driver driving (at the time 8-9 years ago) and I cannot recall his name. Suffice to say he loved it and couldn't stop grinning all day long.....
