Can I ask where that desk is from? I'm looking for a large corner desk for a home office and that looks ideal.
Long since defunct store I think - for some reason MFI comes to mind, but I don't think it was. Good desk though smile

They can't sound very good positioned on a desk like that.

You need some proper nearfield monitors smile
To my (untrained) ears they sound pretty good - front ported so no 'boom' that I can distinguish, and decent stereo imaging. Dare I ask what I would be missing?

Looking at the positioning:

Quite close (if not right up against?) a wall = significant bass reinforcement.

Sitting close to speakers intended to be 2m+ away from the listener = imbalanced sound.

At a guess, I would suggest that you have a sound that is lacking in mid range.

Because the speakers are against a wall, the bass will be emphasised, and because you sit so close to them, the treble will be emphasised.

I'm guessing the bass reinforcement compensates for the excess treble - however - as I said above - it's probably the mid range that's suffering for it.

The positioning also suggests that you probably have some weird stereo effects too.

But *most* importantly - if you're happy with the sound - what does it matter?

However, I'm willing to bet that if you placed them on a decent pair of stands, about 50cm from the wall - you'll be surprised at what you've been missing.

I have no idea who he is. The baldy chap opposite isn't Kyle Glass and the face on the TV could be anyone... Whatever rubbish is on at 6am!

Mine is the left side, with the coffee machine. Laptop soon hopefully about to go from XP 32bit to Win7 64b, with some more RAM from my own pocket!
