Despite being only a youngster compared to many, after a couple of years I am already wondering what I'm doing here some days. Then a genuinely interesting / thought provoking / useful thread pops up and it all makes sense again. There is also some great humour around here at times!

Almost at 17yrs (Feb 18). Less than 3000 posts but I think I went a few yrs just reading without posting much. It was all fields around here...
It's always lively , sometimes too many people seem to just want a row nowadays tho. You can however pick up some fabulous help on here , I've also sold cars and bought cars on here and avoided expensive mistakes. I've met some smashing people, and driven some fab cars as a result!
It's the first forum I read in a morning and the last one I look to at night.

I've met some very nice people from PH. like minded petrolheads etc... with a lot in common.

yes Ph is not like it used to be which is a shame, But still many on here I know. chat, banter and also have got lots of helpful feedback or information o a wide range of things from Learning to ride a motorcycle (some 12 years ago). From how much to what gear to get.

I would rather read here than watch or read the news. So have found out about things i'm interested in rather than having loads of negative crap thrown at me that the media like to do daily.

With regards to Trolls, people who just want to wind people up. I just ignore it. Life's to short. everyone has their own views and experience. If I feel it's worth reading I do. if not I don't.

And looks like i'm working when in work. instead of finding out about new cars and bikes etc.. wink

I just like the variety of subjects that get discussed and the massive range of people on here.

It took me a while to adjust from the old Pie and Piston single forum though.

For me there's an element of noseyness. I am a bit of a leftie and quite like to see an opposing point of view in the NPE forum. NPE is also a good place to quickly get links on developing issues. PH forums in more general terms are also a good place to get a bit of advice on things because I know that certain other parts of the forum are well used by knowledgeable people.
This for me. Because of the industry I work in, and my own outlook, I'm very much in a liberal/left bubble in life, and on social media generally. PH is in the main, and to varying degrees, right wing, and I like to read it to see the opinions, and to challenge my own views. There's often some very intelligent and well written posts hiding away in some of the TL/DR style postings.

Originally I came here for cars/motorbikes, but increasingly my most frequently read forums are SP&L and NP&E.
wavey I also like looking at newspaper displays where you can quickly read the headline of every paper to see what's being said.

I don’t post much any more but some of the threads are quite interesting with the occasional laugh out loud bit of humour chucked in.
