I listened to some of her biggest hits earlier on Spotify when I heard the news. What a talent. At least her music lives on, quite the legacy.

On the Monday following the Hillsborough disaster John Peel started - or tried to, fighting emotion - his show by simply saying "this is for the '96" and played Aretha's version of You'll Never Walk Alone. 8.30pm, 17th April 1989, I think of that every year & still gets to me now.
