Why are you £500 quid down?
If they can't fulfill an order, a refund is due, surely?
You’d think so. Their view - they fulfilled their part of the deal, arranged a deal between manufacturer and finance to facilitate the lease. Not their problem they cannot complete in it.If they can't fulfill an order, a refund is due, surely?
Currently writing to the FSA who regulate them. Doesn’t help that the lease company are just not replying to any form of communication.
Or do most people end up with a car they didn't want in a colour they didn't want for a lot more than they originally thought they would pay?
Hi all,

Is this common in leasing as it seems to be constant bait and switch with missed delivery dates or cars never turning up. Does anybody actually ever get the cars you see in the seem to good to be true deals?

It mostly works, but there were some blunders mentioned here. Delays are usually due to manufacturing delays and nothing to do with brokers. It shouldn't stop anyone from jumping on a good deal. Just use common sense, if there are fees, pay them by credit card, not bank transfer. I benefited from number of good deals myself, some too good to be true.

In my case, I ordered in September with a 12 week lead time and they only admitted defeat 3 weeks ago. I benefited from number of good deals myself, some too good to be true.
Blame was directed toward the manufacturer. I spoke with Volvo and a number of dealers and no supply issues existed.
Make of that what you will.

I finally pulled the trigger on Abarth 124 Spider Auto. Mangoletsi had around 70 cars and are now down to 15. They have to be registered by end of the quarter. All cars have Bose and paint worth £400 or £600. They expect some extra 10 cars but they will have visibility pack and price will go up even more. From what I understand, car is not in production now.
I checked quotes I had in June 2018, when I was thinking for too long (hesitant about exhaust being too noisy for my small close), and cost is similar to what I was quoted back then for a car without Bose.
So, in June 2018, 10K miles per annum, red paint was: £6126.4 total for 2 years. (8K miles per annum was £5,808.64 total)
Current quote, 10K miles per annum, with white paint and Bose is: £6,358.83 for 2 years
I had 3 test drives last year, so I hope I won't be disappointed. Husband wasn't very happy when I told him, but he will have to live with it ;-) Neighbours too. I've been thinking about the car for last 9 months and watching prices and discounts. Cash price is now around £23K with discount but I wouldn't want to buy one and risk unknown depreciation.
I wrapped the deal in couple of hours, talked to salesman at 9.00, agreed on deal at 10.00, got a call from business manager to do finance proposal at 11.00 and confirmation it all went through and order form at 14.00. Car is in port and it will take 10-12 days to deliver it to dealer and unfortunately I will have to pick it up in person. Location of Mangoletsi is not very convenient for me.
Thanks for putting this up. I requested a quote online from them for a grey car with visibility pack and received a call this afternoon. The guy said that they only had a few left but all cars remaining in stock were blue with Bose and Heritage pack but no visibility pack and that’s the lot, no more coming in as he said that they bought all the cars they had left and no more to be built as you said.I checked quotes I had in June 2018, when I was thinking for too long (hesitant about exhaust being too noisy for my small close), and cost is similar to what I was quoted back then for a car without Bose.

1stChoice has form for this. See the Jaguar XF Sportbrake fiasco.
First thing to do is lodge a formal complaint with them. If their final response is to refuse a refund, then the next step is to escalate the issue to the Financial Ombudsman who will undoubtedly rule in your favour.
On their homepage they have a bog "SATISFACTION GUARANTEED" logo. I wonder what form that guarantee takes?First thing to do is lodge a formal complaint with them. On their "About Us" page it says "Unlike many of our competitors we only offer real deals which we can actually supply"
Really: that doesn't seem to be the case then.....................

Wilsons in Epsom advertise some brand new cars in stock on Autotrader, maybe they have grey one and willing to do PCH deal.I'm glad, I finally decided to get the car, as it doesn't look like more will be coming soon.

You know that they created this very thread? Should give them some sort of right to say when its shutting up and moving (it is near the 1000 pages which I think is the limit)! But strangely seems to want to start the new volume at 499 pages instead of just letting a mod do it whenevs as with every other thread on the forum.

What's the name of the company? Sounds like a name and shame is in order and we should all avoid them in the future.
To take your £500 is absolutely unacceptable and probably illegal. If you paid by credit card I'd initiate a charge back immediately
Even if it's via your bank on a debit card I'd speak to them and request a refund. Please name and shame - companies like this need to be avoided. To take your £500 is absolutely unacceptable and probably illegal. If you paid by credit card I'd initiate a charge back immediately
