Lovren at least has done some good things for the team at times. Karius spent more time talking himself up and then not backing that up.

Always amuses me when people quote this. He finally evolves his game but people still use the quote which was very appropriate 24 months ago.

Karius was having a good season with us up until the CL final. He wasn't a world class keeper but he was easily as good a keeper as Lovren is a defender.

And you're talking about Lovren, the self professed "best defender in the world".

I'd say they're on par with each other. Both were capable of having great games. Both capable of calamitous mistakes. Both no longer good enough for the top, top level.
