Equity release products have been much improved over recent years .Basically most are similar to interest only mortgages If you don't pay any type of loans then the interest mounts up.We took one out three years ago when our interest only mortgage was due to expire. We can overpay ,up to 10% of the original loan per year, which we do to keep on top of the interest, covered by pensions and earnings. We can 'port' the loan to another property. We can settle the loan at any time, subject to time penalties There is also a 'no negative equity clause'..We obtained 45% of valuation and if you are in poor health there are increased amounts.
We were advised by Steve Paterson of Late Life Mortgages, contact 07467424368.
There has been a lot of misinformation ,some of it on here, regarding this type of funding.Steve will produce all the facts and figures then leave you to make a decision.
