I think that's called x73. What option codes does it have?
Don't know, just got the VIN, got to get it decoded. Its got BOSE, hard shell sports seats, sports steering wheel, upper dash is black, lower and seats are grey. Otherwise, don't know, don't care TBH.MrJuice said:
I use Costco for my Michelin pilot sport 2 N4 rates tyres. No idea if they're necessary but when they're on offer at Costco, they're not toooooo expensive so I just roll with them
I might look into winter tyres next year
Winter tyres in 19 inch for 997 are very very expensive. Most people use the 18 inch wheels for winters. These have different offsets for 2wd and 4wd if you are souring some.I might look into winter tyres next year

Yep, mine are the sport classics in 18 anyway which I really like. My favourite 997 wheels
Worth investigating if you can get one of the newer 4 season in the correct sizes. I think these perform a bit better in average weather but nowhere near as good in seriously bad weather. But generally we dont get the really bad weather especially if you are in the South.ATM said:

567 WINDSCREEN WITH TOP TINT
640 Sport Chrono Package Plus
970 Two-tone leather interior
P17 Sports Suspension (- 20 mm) including mechanical rear differential lock
P77 Leather Sport Seats
X54 Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipes
XCL Instrument Surround Aluminium Look
XCZ Sport shifter
I presume the XCZ Sport Shifter, is the short throw lever which was an option on these? Reading up on it, P17 was the newer code for M030. Think it was option M030 on 996's.
I was incorrect in that it doesn't have BOSE (I just thought I'd seen the BOSE Tag on the door in one of the photos). She will get an uprated sound system in time anyway, so it makes no odds.

I think it is x73 but maybe with the LSD it is a different option code. M030 was only slightly lower. I think -20 refers to the PASM which is already -10. So in effect you are -30 from a standard car. I might be wrong. But when I had mine in 2005 I remember reading about this option which was free I think if you ditched the PASM [which was standard on the S] for it.Reading up on it, P17 was the newer code for M030. The XCZ Sport Shifter is the short throw version, just been reading up on it on Rennlist. Fair play to the first owner for speccing it, was perhaps 'brave' in the eyes of their OPC at the time!

Yeah, that's how I understand it, its -30mm on a C2 and -20mm on a C2S with PASM. It was a free option
P17 Sports Suspension is a nice option to have. I believe with some modern Porsche cars with these mechanical LSD - like the 987 - they seem to not work after a few years. So your 997 may be the same. Even without a working LSD the X73 / P17 - whatever - option is good if you ask Me.What dual-tone interior is it? Grey/black, brown/black or red/back? I have the grey/black on my 997 and its a quite rare yet lovely option in my view!

In the MY06 brochure the Sport Chassis P17 option was -20mm vs the Carrera and -10 vs Carrera S (with PASM). It was a free option on S models and cost option on non-S Carrera.RiccardoG said:

Gets even more Unicorn then, Black over Stone Grey… I wouldn’t have thought it’s that rare, I really like it too. Black over brown might just pip it though!ATM said:

Good point, I think it is a mechanical LSD, something to get checked out at some point. Even though I’ll never really benefit from it at 6/10ths on the road, I’d like to know it’s functioning!RiccardoG said:

Ok, probably a bit better, -30 would be a bit close on my lane. Next door but one cannot get his M2 Comp over some bumps without grazing his splitter!I think the only thing I’m unsure of are the Turbo wheels. Lobsters would have been my preference and I might swap them out at some point, or even some 18” Carrera classics.

Of course. But you'd still have some sort of idea of new capabilities even if you do top out at 4,500...
Quoted verbatim from the thread on 911 UK :"I have collected the car and covered 180 miles so far. Early days, but first impressions:
1. Performance wise (not character wise) it feels like a factory 997.2 GTS but with more low down torque ( I have spent a lot of time in one of these but not compared dyno graphs, so seat of the pants feel only)
2. And, yes, like Baz I found myself looking to change up when I was already in 6th - the response is so much better than I am used to."

Hartech's phone lines are suddenly very busy."I have collected the car and covered 180 miles so far. Early days, but first impressions:

Hi,
Sorry. First impressions as above. Not much add to yet. Important not to baby the car too much (advice from Hartech) but be sensible for first 2-3000 miles, particularly no labouring. Being too gentle however can lead to poor bedding in.
Overall very happy. The torque graph looks like Table Mountain
and peaks at 336 lb/ft (456 Nm)
One thing I would add is that the Topgear 200 cell cats / manifolds (headers) work very well with the standard PSE which I retained.
With valves closed, it is marginally noisier up at lower end and sounds like normal PSE higher up - slightly higher tone (similar to my 996.2 GT3, which is a good thing). No drone.
However with valves open it is loud - a bit loud for me. Some people will love it though as very race car.
I bet the set up works very well with standard boxes - ie no need to go full hog with switchable / sports system.

Oh, and it seems remarkably economical if that is your thing. Averaged 32 mpg on the 160 miles home at good cruising speed
interspersed with an hour of M6 tailbacks and quiet A roads.
Previously we were averaging more like 26/27 on similar journeys.
Not very scientific but interesting, and reflects what other owners have noticed.
Also rolling road tune (with guru Wayne Schofield) added very little in terms of bhp / torque. The new engine worked brilliantly out of the box with standard ECU settings. Makes you question all the claims from chip sellers on boosting output in n/a 997s - unless they do things with the timing Wayne would not.....
