New Road Angel?
Discussion
anyone know if the new one actualy tells you the speed of the site as well as your current speed? the one doesn't and i feel thats whats pushing me toward the snooper s4.
dunno whether its just me but i often find myself coming on a speed camera on a bit of dual carriageway and thinking.. hmm.. is this bit of road 70,60,50,40,30? coz of course there aint a speed limit sign in site!
its all very well RA telling your how fast your going but if your don't know how fast your supposed to be going your screwed

Too bad I have just renewed my existing Road Angel for lifetime subscription. I wonder if they do trade ins ?
I called them and asked them this as I have Lifetime on mine. Short answer is NO. Long answer is this:- A company called Networks is taking them in and giving £200 trade in against a new unit, regardless of the subscription on them. Speaking to the lady at Blackspot, and was informed that the subscription stays with the serial number of the device. ERGO, if you sell it, it goes with the unit, and is not transferable to the new unit. I want the new one but cant face letting my old one go so cheap with the lifetime on it

I cant find it on the net. Can anyone show me it please.
When you say "it" what do you mean?; B2 or Road Angel?
Have a look here:

for a list of devices. Left hand side of screen, roll down the index.

Hi
the new road angel is a nice piece of kit.
Lots of added features but at a higher price £399 than the original road angel. The voice alerts are Tiff or a digital female voice! Though you can turn that feature off. (classic road angel at £349) Front and rear laser detector and it looks great.
I've got a mpg movie of it in action if anyone wants to see it ?
OK I'm slightly bias (we've did the website) but this is the best device on the market.
Personally I have a Blinder Mx unit (remote door opener) and a Bell 955 radar detector (but how often are hand held radar used these days).

Woof, great site.
Does the new unit incorporate the laser detector meaning it has to be dash top mounted?
Also i would like to compare specs of this unit with the Origin B2. For example, the B2 gives warnings up to 2000 meters in advance, does the road angel?

ah, just discovered maximum warning distance is only 1KM
www.blackspot.com/downloads/docs/ra2/userguide.pdf
Also looks like it has to be windscreen mounted which to get the laser detector to work. That means the rear laser detector is never going to work on the griff since the roof will be in the way (rear view mirror practically useless with roof down).

cheers - we like it !!
you can access the userguide from the site

It looks good, but I'd be more impressed if there was an option for remote laser sensors, rather than relying on line of sight through the front and rear (
don't see that working on too many sports cars) windscreens.
{edit:} like Dusty said!
