HI guys, just wanted to check something about speed cameras here in Scotland. Can they take your photo from the front and from the opposite side of the road? In Australia where I am from they can only take you picture from the rear after you have passed it and from the side of the road you are travelling on.
I just went past one in Edinburgh and it was on the opposite side facing me and it flashed. There were some other cars around so it may not have been me but I just wanted to check as I was driving my in-laws car.

Truvelo cameras take a picture of the front of your car, but do not flash. A Gatso takes a picture of the rear of your car and does flash. However if the Gatso flashed you head-on, you're probably in the clear! 
Ahh grasshopper but they DO flash...only the Truvelo flash is through a magenta coloured filter...the intention being not to dazzle the oncoming driver as well as relieve him/her of their £60 and 3 points.oldsoak said:
