Anyone ever been done for buying two consecutive tickets?

You know the sort '2 hours for £2 no return within 2 hours' but you purchase another ticket after 2 hours without moving and stay 4 hours.

Do the council really enforce these if the valid fee has been paid?

I've done this on the harbour wall at West bay in Dorset. The dive boats have a friendly arrangement with the local wardens so that as long as enough is paid for the day they overlook the no return periods. Lugging 30-50kg of kit from the long term car park is a real pain.

I got the extreme version of this near Sloane Square in London (can't remember which council) where a parking warden told me that 'meter feeding' of any kind would lead to a PCN...

For example, if I only have enough change for a 10 minute ticket, which gives me time to get more change, I'll get a PCN for daring to come back and buy another ticket which takes me up to the 2 hours parking entitlement.

Crazy, and I'm not sure if it is the intended policy or just that the warden was [cross out as appropriate] stupid/misguided/vindictive.

Does the 'do not return within 2hrs' apply to one space or all spaces in the area?

Not sure if this is covered by the same wardens area as Guildford street, but I once got done for being 2 minutes late (due to a customer as well, which adds salt to the wound) so I'd say vindictive is probably the correct response. Today I stuck mine in an NCP and didn't have to worry as you just pay for what you use (and lucky for me that I can claim it back on expenses).

Wardens...don't get me started.

Good point, technically you could shift your car into another space and pay the ticket? I'm not sure if this would work though in reality.

Parking areas in London for example are zoned, so anywhere back in the same zone is a no-no. And you can't work out the zones most of the time....great.

Seems a bit hit and miss.

I haven't tried it yet but will later in the year. I have watched the wardens as they check the cars and they just appear to look at the time, and don't appear to make any note of registrations.

I am arguing with Camden about this at the moment,paid for the 2 hrs then moved across the road and still got a ticket

At the moment I would say it is going 50/50 as I have asked them to give me some proof that it is not allowed

As above I was told by a warden it was banned "within the same zone" as I used to move my car around the area which was 2hrs free parking when I was a student.

Seems stupid but I guess its to stop 2 friends constantly swapping adjacent spaces all day.

So can you park in a different space in the same zone on the same ticket?

i.e park for 1 hour at one end of the street and move to other end of street for 45mins, presuming the one zone covers both ends of the street and it was a 2 hour ticket.
