How do I make a money claim against french company?

Hi all,
I've bought something via the web from France but the company has taken payment from me twice. At the critical time my card company ceased so I can't go back to them to get the second payment back.
I have emailed the french company for their address to serve legal papers but they refuse to give it to me.
I've been to our courts as I understood there was now a (I quote the blurb) quick and easy procedure within the EU. There appear to be two alternatives
1. European Order for Payment (EOP)
2. European Small Claims Procedure (ESCP)
However, the girl in our courts doesn't know much, and doesn't know anyone who does, but thinks I have to translate the forms into french and serve them in the correct court and geographical location in France. What is quick and easy about that.
Has anyone gone through this process and can give me any steer on it please?

Hi it was made with a mastercard (nit visa) which used to be GM Card but as you may know they shut up shop and disappeared and yes it was more than £100.
I'm just hoping that we must have a legal eagle on PH Forum somewhere who knows precisely what I need to do.
Apparently having spoken to my bank it wouldn't help me if I had used my Visa debit card instead - it's down to the agent to refund it. Unfortunately they understand english about as well as I understand french. They say they can't find a second payment from me but it has been taken twice and it shows on my statement twice as being taken by the same company within an hour of each other. I'v emailed my statement to them but no they don't respond to emails. It's a big well known retailer aswell which I'm sure many of you will have purchased gooda from.

I don't understand the bit about how the bank has "ceased".
The GM card was run by HFC who still exist and are owned by HSBC. They cannot get out of their responsibility to consumers by just saying they are shut! Get into their written claims procedure, if that fails you can go to the Ombudsman.
