Well documented on here and elsewhere eg TRL, Safespeed that vehicle activated electronic signs are far more effective in slowing traffic than cameras.

So WTF are they playing at on the M42 road works then?

These signs are placed in a 50 limit, yet some seem to be activated at around 40, therefore continuously lit.

I mean its not rocket science is it?

Someone comes up with an idea then some other ass comes along and screws the whole thing up reducing effectiveness.

Or is it all a plot to prove they don't work?

You don't think they are accurate do you?! I'm sure they'll be calibrated to post a higher speed then the real speed, so as to slow you down.
