Hi

A tale with a happy ending.

Just a parking ticket one but at least the whole appeals process worked this time !

Waiting for a friend in Soho last summer - stopped on double yellows. Parking warden comes up - I tell him I'm waiting for a friend. Friend comes out a few minutes later I drive off.

1 month later increased fine for none payment. So I protested it - basically said it wasn't issued at the time and the guy probably had the hump coz I was in a nice car - finally went to an independent adjucator in April - heard back today..

"Mr (me) agrees that he was in the location. Waiting for a friend. And explained this to the Parking Attendant. Who did not issue the ticket.

The Attendant notes state he issued the ticket, but no vehicle exise no. was recorded.

I prefer the version given by the Appellant. If the parking attendant had time to issue and affix the charge notice, he would of also had time to make a record of the tax disc. I am not satisfied that the Penalty Charge notice was properly issued"

Yeah !!

Main point - with a parking ticket there's a proper route for an appeal. You right back with your reasons and it's get put thru the system if it deserves to be.

Congestion Charge protest work in another way. You have to get any appeal witnessed by a Judge/JP etc - they then ignore the appeal and send the baliffs round !

I had that last week. No communication - they didn't even turn up at my door (they couldn't find my address) so they slapped another £200 on the baliff notice !

So I'm now suing the baliff company and Congestion Charge for London !

Vote Tory in the London Mayor Elections !!

Woof - you do realise it is customary in the circumstances of a cancelled bogus parking ticket to request costs back from the council?
