Yep! Went to Scotland last week to spend a few days with friends. Up the west coast, M6 - A74M - A73 - A80M - A9. Around 400 miles: Nothing! Zilch! No Trafpol, No Talivans on bridges, NOTHING! Same on way back! 800 miles of trouble free motoring. Maybe it's not SO bad after all.

Dare I even say that I may/could have/possibly/alledgedly/maybe/perhaps/ have actually got my car into top gear on a British motorway!

Yep! the 8 pack up front "purring away" at a little over tickover speed at a steady 83 mph, God I should be flogged for that shouldn't I? I must be a car crazed child killing maniac. Maybe I should be forced to fit one of those "Splattometers" to my front bumper the RSPB are handing out. Then they could tell if I had killed any children on the way! Cruise control ON now to keep the speed steady, much below 80mph and it may drop down a gear (automatic) OK! I know! I know! but this is comfortmobile Right!

Anyway, where are all the Trafpol? No-one on the bridges! just the SPECS camera's on the Thelwall bridge, Nothing through £ancashire (as Wildcat calls it). Cumbria, Nope! and NO TALIVANS on the bridges? Where are they? Can't they afford the fuel anymore? Have they RUN OUT of film? Are they all OFF with the kids this week or what? Or was I just LUCKY?

800 Miles of good motoring and no hassle, Great!
Just the lonely few Gatso's on the A9 to spoil it.

Did the same trip a couple of months back and, going north, stopped counting when I got to six scanera vans hidden behind bushes at side of bridge with equipment positioned on bridge. In every case it was on stretches of motorway where traffic was flowing freely.

It was much the same on the way back.

Better wait the 14 days.

Yes, Know what you mean, but I'm pretty confident this time. Last time I went there were two Trafpol, operating each carriageway in Cumbria (M6) and two Talivans on bridges over A74 within 2-3 miles of each other! I was quite careful really, I slow down for bridges now!

Next trip is to go and play again with "Herman the G'ER-MAN" in a few weeks time. I'm regarded as positively SLOW there at 100 mph.

P.S. However, If anything SHOULD arrive, I'll let you Know.

8 pack Liebchen - our "friendly lurk" from Cumbria Prats categorically states that his talivans operate at Shap. (They have been working elsewhere lately - tourist season - regardless of what he says - they had little change of scenery - cos it must be boring sat watching all those cars drive by - safely and under 70mph! )

Don't want to make you more paranormals or anything!

Wildcat, Have just read your post on "laser Jammers - WHY?" Ich denke, Ich Liebe Dich! Pity you already have a husband! Didn't know he was a Doc. Can you ask him: I keep getting these bright flashing lights in my eyes when I'm driving, what does he think it might be? Wiedersehen!

I think you were lucky!
I live in sunny Scotland, there is no shortage of laser vans, fixed scams, etc etc. I picked up two NIPs for driving safely earlier this year - both were a big surprise, they'd obviously been well hidden (83 in 70, and alleged 52 in alleged 40). Are your 14 days up yet?

Gee Guys! Thanks for cheering me up! I'll leave it 3 weeks to be on the safe side and send an update JohnL. I'm very careful though, and I was "good" on the A9 with it's unmarked cars an' all! My licence is Clean (rare these days)and want keep it that way. Apart from the Scamerati you're a very luky man JohnL to live where you do. TTFN.
