Does anyone actually know any law??

Ive received a parking ticket from a private parking company whilst I was working as a contractor in store at Aldi in Southampton. Ive written to them explaining and proving this and today they write back saying the fine still stands. I only overstayed by 17 minutes!!

Is they any law basically telling them to go whistle???

Cease contact with them. They have to take you to court to get the money and they won't bother.

I bet a pint of milk if he continues to ignore them he won't end up in court.
yes every week or so they ring and tell me that I'm definitely going to court now. Still waiting.

yeh as above, contacting them makes things much worse as: they know you exist, know your address, that you were driving the car, that you are a bit nervous/edgy/unsure about everything hence 'weak' etc etc

if you never reply in the first place then there are too many question marks for them, e.g. they don't even know who was driving the vehicle so after a while they will just give up

Notwithstanding the fact that the OP has contacted them (breaking Rule #1), and even if this does end up in the County Court; theres virtually no chance of the judge finding in their favour. Common sense is applied in CC and reasonable outcomes sought: they wont want to spend good money getting you there.

Is this an Aldi car park? Surely they can resolve this or you add it on to the bill?

They'll send you letter after letter.

Eventually they'll tell you the debt has been passed on to a debt recovery agent.

They'll then offer you a discount if you pay, which you shouldn't.

Eventually the debt will be passed on to another recovery agent.

Ignore the lot. I'm on receipt of letter 6.

Hi
It got a ticket in the same store after working on the fire alarm and over stayed the limit.
I spoke to area manager who cancelled it.
I was told that a list of vehicle regs for contractors should be held at aldi head office to prevent this
