Most Dangerous roads by region
Discussion
Looking at the stats research flawed as in Yorkshire Region top ten no mention of A.64 (York to Scarborough) which is far worse than A.19. Three fatals on 64 last week. Regular occurrence.
But really what makes a road dangerous? Could it be the actions of a certain drivers themselves?. So in reality there is no such thing as a dangerous road.?

I'd say there are certainly hazardous roads, i.e. ones that present many more opportunities for a bad driver to have an accident.
Trucks at 40mph make more opportunities for badly trained (90% of) drivers to kill themselves & many others.
Enforcing the 40mph limit encourages those badly trained drivers to take risks they are not even aware of.
I know who'd I'd blame for forcing professional drivers to obey draconian speed limits. Just ask the truckers where the risk now lies, it's not rocket science.

Interesting.
Since the average speed cameras have been put in on the A616, its gone from number 4 to number 1.
Might be something to do with the fact its a badly designed road.
Strange that speed doesn't even get a mention in the survey
BTW is it safe to use a thumbs down or might I get a NIP?

When I saw this list, and some film of the roads, my thought was "wow - these look like real driver's roads". Therein lies the problem - most of the untrained numpties cannot read the road ahead, and judge the proper speed for the road conditions. Its even worse now, as the overriding message is that if you stick to speed limits, you are safe - thus brain can be switched off.
How many accidents and casualties will it take before the whole dumbed-down "speed kills" thing is dropped?
