Last friday after work on the kent stretch of the M25 (clockwise) i spotted a police van about 10 cars behind me with blue lights and all flashing away.

Now i didnt pull over immeaditely as he was miles away but kept my eye on him.
When he was two vehicles behind me i flashed the guy in front to let him know and pulled over waiting for the van to overtake me.

It seemed ages passed before i noticed that the police van was stuck behind a MPV full of kids with a women driver who was on her mobile. She had the police van behind her for almost 2 miles and only noticed it despite flashin blue lights and headlights whn i was alongside her and sounded my horn alot and alerted the passenger to what was behind them.

Now, they pulled over and i was surprised to see the police van ignored her and carried on ( i assumed it was on its way to an accident ahead of me.

As i discovered there was no accident BUT I do recall that the police van had all the lights etc and a yellow/orange stripped rear doors but NO signs along it at all. Nothing saying Police or anything.

Any ideas what it was if not a police van?

Bomb disposal? They have blue lights, I think.

I have seen the same white van on the M40 with Blue lights and no markings.

My guess is Military Police , Bomb Disposal or Fire Brigade, but definitely NOT Police.

MP vehicles carrying blue lights are (should be) all marked "Military Police" - Streaky

two possibilities:

1) Cat A prisoner escort

2) Bullion/cash movement.

It wouldn't have been bomb disposal with such a large amount of other vehicles around it. Not necessary. At the most two other vehicles and perhaps a bike would be 'tops' for a bomb disposal run.
