Am i back to a 6point limit now?

Hi all,

I passed my car test nearly 5 years ago, so well out of the 2 year probationary (6 point limit) period, but now i passed my bike category A (big bike) test today. Am i back to a 6 point probational on;

a)all categories

b)just bike

c)none

???

If that WAS the case, if i passed my motorcycle test now i would automaticaly get banned

Well, my source was a motorcycle instructor, and he seems to know what he's talking about

Mikey G: AIUI the points that you have before passing the motorcycle test and coming into the trial period don't count. It's if you get 6 points within the trial period that you get banned.

Weird but all my sources of reference point to what Pidgeon states.

Even DVLA state:

"Full entitlement to all categories of vehicle previously held will only be reinstated upon passing a test in any one of the driver's previously held entitlements. A successful test for entitlement to a category of vehicle not previously held will result in a full licence for that category only."

However to be absolutely certain ask DVLA yourself by sending EMail to
