"Although there was no increase in the 186 fixed cameras across Scotland last year, there were an additional 68 mobile units deployed."

"Andrew Wilkie, director of the Scottish Safety Camera Programme, said the increase in those caught was due to better use of the equipment.
He said: "An increase of 62% does not mean that the number of speeding drivers is increasing. It means we are being more effective in targeting the issue - making sure cameras are in the right places and targeting the right times.""
