Caught speeding - 'The Verdict.'
Discussion
To those of you who gave me advice on my court appearance, I'd like to extended my gratitude to you. Without your advice I would of lost my licence for sure.
Anyway, this is what happened.
Offence: Clocked at 88mph in a 60mph zone, along the A5 towards Hockliff.
Verdict: 5 points and £150.00 fine along with an additional court fee of £35.00.
They did mention that I was going to lose my licence, but as a few of you suggested, I took along a letter from my employer. He stated that I was a nice bloke and a very careful driver (yeah, right) and that this offence was completely out of character. Also, he mentioned that if I was to lose my licence he would have to terminate my contract thus, making me unemployed.
Once they had read that, they let me off with a fine and 5 points!
Hoorah.
Once again, cheers fellas and happy driving to all.
Regards,
The bloke holding up all the traffic by sticking to the speed limit.
P.S. The Duty Solicitor was bloody FIT!!!!!

Your not thinking this through are you Deester?
A is convicted of speeding with 9 points so attracts the 6 month ban at 12 points. But he pleads hardship and the ban is not imposed. So he carries on speeding and at each Court he claims same hardship which must be accepted from the previous decision.. So what we have is a system that allows someone to speed, pay only a fine and never banned? You have to be joking if TPTB are going to allow this.
So they make a law at Section 35 (4) (c) Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 and back it up with a High Court decision R v Sandback Justices 1983 so that the same hardship plea cannot be made twice in three years.
