The overall goal

I must have been bored driving into work this morning as I got on to thinking about all this speed enforcement. (having just passed 2 Blunderside speed vans, one enforcing a 30MPH temporary limit on the dual carriageway (no roadworks by the way)). The goal as stated by the SCPs is to slow everyone down "the best speed camera is one that doesn't issue any tickets". Equipment is purchased from the likes of S***o and L****c to efficiently punish motorists in the way of Fines and Points. Eventually the goal is reached - everyone is driving bellow the speed limit all the time. The income from the cameras is now zero and the SCP's have a mountain of hardware to maintain. This can now only come from the government and therefore the tax payer. If we then look at what the SCP's have achieved what might we find. From the motorist point of view his insurance is now sky high from the number of speeding convictions, and he's well naffed off with the police. From the police point of view the ammount of goodwill lost has set them back years and now need to think about an effective PR strategy. The SCP's are battling to get funding from the government to stay alive and avoid folding up. The number of people being killed on the road has infact gone up dramatically due to lack of due care and attention from all the speedo watching going on. The safety lobbyists are ranting and blaming everyone else for the increase in deaths. The directors of S***o and L****c, sat on their yacht in the Carribean smoking Havanah cigars, drinking chilled fine wine with a 18 year old blonde giving them a foot massage in the sun have made their money, retired young, and enjoy blasting about in one of their many Ferraris before relaxing in their private jacuzzis, are busy chilling with an almost permenant smile on their face due to the 8 figure bank balances they now have.
Meanwhile, the mess they have left in Britain is just someone elses problem. You have to admire them, you couldn't get into a better line of business at the moment!

good reply archie. That presumably means not listening to anything that in anyway takes your attention. Radio 4 perhaps, or looking out for vans.
