Wot no plates at all !
Discussion
Just had an interesting morning
I have recently bought a Jap import, my new tow wagon/windsurf bus, there is an area of SVA rules that states if its a camper van, it does not need an SVA test.
So it gets delivered sans No. plates, unregistered, on trade plates to my house, I've spent a few days fitting the camper kit.
I then apply for registration, insured on the chassis number, quick trip to local DVLA office to get paperwork sorted. "We'll need an inspection sir, next Wednesday 10am please"
Now I know I'm allowed to drive an unregistered unplated car (but insured) to a DVLA inspection, so this morning I did just that an 85mile round trip.

Waheeey wot no plates scameras here we come, I feel invincible ok not quite but it was very very tempting!
I passed:
TWO Trafpol units,
ONE unmarked white training car with 4 plod in & I even waved!
ONE Local panda car
Nothing not a blue light in sight
.
I get almost all the way back home, thinking wow what fun & within 200 yards of home I get pulled by a very fit looking local plod lass.
Quick explanation with all my documents, showed her the chasis number, all ok & home we go.
There's me thinking I was going to be stopped at every street corner & it'll be blue lights all the way. If you need to rob a bank I have a suggestion.......

Really? When I had to register my Tiger the only 2 places I could go sans plates was to a booked MOT or the SVA test. I asked about taking it to the local DVLA office for the inspection and was told I'd have to trailer it! Luckly they were willing to send someone round to my house to inspect it there
Driving to the SVA was fun though (30 miles each way). Passed 2 police cars and a van but no-one seemed to care about the lack of plates!
Makes me wonder about a National No Number Plate day.
Afterall if you have to drive into London at £5/day and do it 6 times before getting caught you break even. If everybody did it speed cameras would be obsolete..... (And the law would be changed to make it an instant 12 points)
I guess TB would introduce capital punnishment for (anybody other than TB/GB/JP/CS or any other "party" member) making him look foolish.
