Just got this in from Cyclops....

NEWS FLASH!!

A new SPEC's system has just been made live on the M6 through central Birmingham
from Junctions 7 through to 9.

SPECs camera systems record your number plate details and measure your average
speed over the controlled zone - if your average speed is above the speed limit
an automatic fine is issued to you via DVLA records.

Not much point in having it there, though. You might get over walking pace, occasionally.

Is this a new and different SPECS system to the one that has been in place since the start of the major roadworks over that section since about Summer 2000.

7-9 isn't exactly central Birmingham either It's not a variation of the usual SPECS hoaxes doing the rounds is it?

Perhaps it's because the toll road has done its job and traffic flows on the M6 again now? Got to prevent it somehow....
