Camera Van Procedure
Discussion
Anyone close enough to the camera van procedures to settle a little argument.
The LTI20-20 is good for a range of 1000m but I don't reckon you will get a reg print at that range more like 300m (tallies with Devon camera site info).
So if a BiB is using it, he may well use it out to 1000m and pull the offending car. However, I can not see a van taking a speed at 1000m and then having to wait to 300m to snap the photo. I reckon it is more likely to be an "all in one operation" eg press the trigger, speed and photo in one, I'll go as far as suggesting that the operator doesn't even have any discretion, simply points and shoots. The net effect is that the van will operate around 100 to 300m dependant on road layout. All the NIP photos seem to show distance less than 300m as well.
Anyone confirm if this is correct?
