Although unlikely, what's there to stop me being arrested for being drunk in charge at Pistonfest? Seeing as I'll be consuming a few pints of Guinness and sleeping next to my car, if not in it should the tent leak?

Is there anything at all which could be done, to in theory, prevent a charge?

iirc not so, as a "public place" includes private land which the general public have access to or pay for entry!

We have employed a security team to keep an eye on things including overnight patrols. If there was to be any nonsense involving drink+cars then it will be dealt with quickly.

(good job we didn't have this last year or I'd have been thrown out! )

Absolutely, Ted. We can't have pissed-up blokes deciding to pull donuts near my tent causing my wife to kick me out of bed to see what's going on for 2 years in a row, now can we?

I submit to my learned friend (shnozz) that he should have been aware of this predisposition being of a similar ilk, vis-a-vis legal stuff, forthwith and ipso facto (etc etc).

(Please forgive me - it's very nice wine)

Is there an official drunken doughnut area then set aside for late evening antics?

Give your car keys to a responsible adult, oh wait, that'll never happen.

Nope. The venue owner specifically requested us to stop any doughnutting for a number of reasons, not least of which is safety.

What about unofficial drag racing - sober(of course) on the old runway at the top of the field?
