Very interesting that Mr. Gatsonides only ever intended to measure vehicle speed accurately, not to have decent people chased to the ends of the Earth He was a racing driver too!

He claims a basic school physics experiment using the mains as a timing reference. I'm amazed he got the patent without failing on being obvious to someone familiar with the prior art, even if not on the grounds of people doing it already.

Correct me if this is tosh.
The first speed camera in the UK was on the A69 at Riding Mill in Northumberland ?? Very soon after it was installed some naughty Geordies took a pipe cutter and "felled" it. True or false ??
If true, why has it not been adopted as a national pastime??
