NIP and Road question
Discussion
Very surprised to get a NIP through the post today, 42mph in a 30mph!
I wasn't driving that car but my wife may have been. I was very surprised given she only every puts her foot down outside town or on the Motorway and even then rarely speeds unless it's safe to do so, she is a very good driver and is particularly careful round town and in 30 zones.
Upon checking Multimap it appears it was on a four lane road, the only reason I can think off is that one normally assumes these tend to be 40 zones. Anybody familiar with this road and can confirm the limit ?
Given that I am the owner of the car, but not the driver and that at the moment I am unaware of who the driver was with any certainty is their a course of action that I may take which could avoid the ticket ?
Thanks

This road is a pure revenue generator ...
heres a good description from www.speedlimit.org
"A58 Peel Way - one camera in each direction, each shortly beyond the Tesco junction. 30 limit, reduced from 40. As this is a pedestrian-free dual carriageway with armco, this is one of the most blatant revenue-raisers I have seen. How can this be a blackspot for speed related accidents? "
In the DFT 3 year camera stats out a couple of weeks ago, off the top of my head there were 8 injuries for one camera and 0 for the other. You can bet your bottom dollar that the one that caught your missus was the one that shouldn't be there!
It has been there for a while though so is one of the legacy cameras that don't fall within the current guidelines. There have been plenty of letters in the local rags about why its still there - but hey it makes money!

Having seen the cars you own Jumjum then hardly ones that a sensible bloke would let out willy nilly to the drivers pool.
If it was me I would be very worried bit about the amnesia aspect and probably have words with the M.O.
Sorry my friend but I've heard your plea so many times that I cannot believe all are true. Take her out to dinner and get her to take the rap.
